Credit Union Life Savings Insurance

Your credit union provides, free of charge, life savings insurance on the shares you have on deposit. Until 4-1-84 the rate that was paid back on the account was variable. Depending on the year (based on the day before you turned 55) the amount of insurance paid differed as follows...

$2000 - 10-1-64
$3000 � 04-1-82
$4000 � 07-1-83
$5000 � 04-1-84

Then on 8-1-86 it was changed to a fixed term of $5000 with a 6-month pre-existing condition clause. This is the present method being used.

Effective January 1st, 2002, life savings insureance claims for less than $100.00 will not be processed by the Credit Union.
